Queen to provide Trump family with TWO royal dinners during visit – ‘It’s a family thing’

Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump will all be participating in, what is known as the “family events”, during the trip. First Lady Melania Trump will also be joining them on their five-day trip to Britain, France and Ireland. Their trip will include a lavish state banquet at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen and a dinner at the US ambassador’s home with Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

A source described much of the trip as a “family thing” and said “the whole Trump family is going over.”

Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge will be attending Monday night’s glamorous white-tie diner at Buckingham Palace.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, will miss the visit while she is on maternity leave after giving birth to baby Archie last month.

Prince Harry will be attending a luncheon with the couple and the Queen on Monday.

Buckingham Palace staff will spend three days laying the table for Monday’s state banquet.

Napkins will be folded like dutch bonnets, six glasses will be laid out for each guest and a special cushion will be placed on the chair of the Prince of Wales.

Plates will be 18 inches apart, and glasses and chairs will all be the same distance away from the table edge.

Of the six glasses, one will be for water, one for champagne, one each for red and white wines, along with two more for dessert wine and port.

Meanwhile, widespread demonstrations are currently being arranged for June 4 in a repeat of similar events that took place during the President’s last visit to London.

Last year a giant inflatable “Trump baby” was flown above Trafalgar Square which is expected to appear once again on the Tuesday of Trump’s visit.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “Protests are expected and this will be among the most contentious state visits ever.

“Obviously the emphasis is in the ceremonial and the traditional features of these visits such as the state banquet, business links and the celebration of the military ties on the eve of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.”
