The monarch, 95, travelled to Norfolk by helicopter from Windsor Castle on Sunday.

She is staying at Wood Farm, where her beloved husband Prince Philip spent much of his retirement from royal duties.

It comes after the Queen cancelled Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham due to Omicron.

Her Majesty is expected to be in Norfolk on February 6 when she marks 70 years on the throne.

It will be an emotional visit for the monarch, as she remembers her father King George VI.

It is also the first time she has stayed at Wood Farm since the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: “Everything is being put in order for the Queen’s visit.

“We’ve been told that she will stay at Wood Farm, rather than the main house, which is nice as that always had a special place in his heart.”

The monarch’s trip to Sandringham comes as she faces a turbulent time.

Her second son Prince Andrew is battling a civil sex case in the US. He has strenuously denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is embroiled in a row with the Government over police protection for when he travels to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lili.

And last week, Boris Johnson issued a public grovelling apology to the Queen over alleged Downing Street parties on the eve of Philip’s funeral.
