Queen heartbroken: How Queen ‘overwhelmed’ with Megxit drama – ‘Emotionally exhausted’
Queen Elizabeth II will bid farewell to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this year, as the couple will leave official royal duties in March. Their departure comes with two more separations, as both Peter and Autumn Phillips, and Lord Snowdon and his wife have announced their intentions to divorce.
Queen Elizabeth II had to give her assent for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to exit the Royal Family next month.
The monarch, who will celebrate her 94th birthday and 67th year on the throne in 2020, allowed the couple to pursue their independence outside of the Firm last year.
Now, they will split their time between the UK and North America, dropping their royal duties altogether by March 31.
A source close to the crown has revealed the Queen is “exhausted” by the process, dubbed “Megxit” by royal pundits.

Speaking to US Weekly, the source said: “She’s exhausted, both physically and emotionally.
“She’s approaching her 94th birthday in April and should be at a stage in her life where she can ease up and be supported by her loved ones.”
The source added: “The drama’s never-ending, she’s so frustrated.
A separate source told the publication the Queen is “so disappointed” Prince Harry would “heap so much embarrassment on the monarchy”.
The furore surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has dragged the Queen into a spat surrounding the Sussex’s future branding decisions.
The couple’s incoming projects include an extension of the Sussex Royal brand, which includes a charitable “foundation” and Instagram account of the same name.
They intended to keep the brand as it is, but the Queen has prevented them from using the “royal” part of their name.
The Queen allegedly considered the continued usage of the word in the brand “untenable”.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, another source said the decision was “inevitable”, adding the Queen had her hands tied.
They said: “In many ways, this is inevitable given their decision to step down, but it must surely come as a blow to the couple as they have invested everything into the Sussex Royal brand.
“The Queen would have had little choice, however.
“The Sussexes’ original plan – of being half-in, half-out working royals – was never going to work.”
“If they aren’t carrying out official duties and are now seeking other commercial opportunities, they simply cannot be allowed to market themselves as royals.”
Meghan and Harry ultimately dropped their bid to trademark Sussex Royal for commercial or charity activities.
The couple added they would not use the name overseas, despite their insistence the monarchy has “no jurisdiction” over the naming rights in another country.
A trademark application to use the royal trademark on beer, toys, jewellery and sporting goods is allegedly still active, however.
