Speaking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal expert Roberta Fiorito claimed Queen Elizabeth II will be unable to attend a long list of public events which she is usually at the heart of in the summer because of coronavirus. Speculating on when the head of the Royal Family will be back out in the public for the joy of royal fans across the country, Ms Fiorito said she might be seen in the autumn.

She said: “I am really said because this might be the last time we see Queen Elizabeth for a long time.

“The Times reported this week that she will remain in Windsor indefinitely.

“And this will be the first time in 27 years that Buckingham Palace is not open to the public this summer, which is wild.

“A lot of people are speculating that fall (autumn) might be the first time we ever see her out in public again.

“I mean, it’s understandable given the current conditions.

“But I don’t think we’ll see her carrying out official duties in the way that she has before with the garden parties and the Royal Windsor Horse Show and Trooping the colour and Royal Ascot.

“And obviously she’s not going to be there for any of these.”

The Queen is currently isolating at Windsor Castle with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, but Her Majesty might make a return to public life sooner than we think.

The British Monarch will remain at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip for an indefinite period, with palace officials confirming her safety will not be risked during the crisis.

However, the Queen already has big plans for post-lockdown life.

While it’s been reported that Her Majesty could step down for a number of months due to the current pandemic, a new report suggests the monarch is planning to return to her duties as soon as it’s safe for her to do so.

Her Majesty will continue to follow Government advice regarding lockdown and social-distancing measures.

However, as soon as lockdown is lifted the Queen has every intention to be back at Windsor Castle and working “harder than ever”.

Palace aides told Vanity Fair, “She can’t be seen to be going against official government advice, but it’s fair to say she’s looking forward to getting back to normal.

“It’s a delicate line but I think we will see her doing private audiences again and more of the work we are used to seeing her do in public at some point in the future.

“There is no suggestion of her stepping back, she is very much fulfilling her duties as head of state.”

While royal aides can’t comment on what it’s being planned for the autumn, it’s understood events are being planned for the Queen.

“The idea that we won’t see the Queen in public again is certainly not the case.

“The Queen is planning to come back to work and when she does I think we’ll see her work harder than ever”, said another source.

“The idea that she’ll reign from a screen is not Her Majesty’s view.

“There’s a keenness to get back to doing the sort of work she has always done. She very much believes in being seen.”
