The Queen’s time on the throne has proved definitive, as the 94-year-old monarch has presided over the longest reign in British history. The line to the top of the Royal Family now extends three generations from her, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brits can now pinpoint the next three kings, potentially showing more than 100 years of rule.

How many grandchildren does the Queen have?

The Queen’s record-breaking reign has given her 68 years to build the Royal Family’s ranks.

She had to raise four children after taking the throne in 1953, and each of them has now had two.

As such, the Queen’s immediate family includes four children and eight grandchildren.

Her grandchildren include:

Prince Andrew

The Queen commands great respect from her grandchildren, notably Prince Harry.

He once heaped heavy praise on the monarch, describing her work as “incredible”.

He said: “I look at the Commonwealth and think, ‘Look how much it’s achieved’.

“She should be incredibly proud of what she’s led and what she’s achieved and what she’s created amongst a huge amount of people from different ethnic backgrounds, different skin colours, different experiences, different islands – whatever it be. Hats off to her, it’s incredible.”
