The Queen has “embraced” Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall as both a royal and her daughter-in-law, according to an expert. Marlene Koenig spoke to Express.co.uk about whether Camilla’s past actions and backlash from portrayals like The Crown had impacted her standing in the monarchy. She pointed to Prince Charles’ future Privy Council as an example of why this was not the case.
Ms Koenig told Express.co.uk: “The Queen has embraced her.
“She even made sure that she would be at the Privy Council when Charles was proclaimed king.
“The negativity brought by things like The Crown will fade away.
“That’s not the majority.”
She added: “Focusing on what she’s doing is far more important.”
The Privy Council is a formal body of advisers to the monarch who offer guidance on exercising royal duties.
At the moment around 650 people sit on the Privy Council including current and former prime ministers, Prince Charles and Prince Philip.
They meet once a month and are presided over by the Queen.

He said: “Remember Camilla’s very highly thought of now by the Queen.
“She’s a privy councillor, she’s had the Royal Family Order.”
Mr Fitzwilliams continued: “She’s had the GCVO, which was the Queen’s personal gift.
