Queen Camilla’s step-grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have picked a special nickname to refer to her in public and among the family.
Nicknames are a rather common occurrence within the Royal Family, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle going as far as picking the late Queen’s own nickname of Lilibet when naming their daughter.
The Queen herself revealed the children of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales had personally decided what to call her instead of the more traditional grandma or granny.
Instead, she told singer Lady Gaga that her step-grandchildren had taken to calling her Gaga to avoid any confusion with grandmother Carole Middleton and late grandmother Diana.
Camilla told the international pop star about her nickname when they met at the Royal Variety Performance in 2016.
The then-Duchess of Cornwall candidly admitted that “my grandchildren call me Gaga”.
But while George, Charlotte and Louis have all grown up knowing Camilla as their grandfather’s wife, William has also ensured they know everything about their “granny Diana.”
The Queen is also a grandmother to her son’s daughter and son, Lola and Freddy Parker Bowles, and her daughter’s children Eliza, Louis and Gus Lopes.
Camilla is known to be very close with her grandchildren, gushing about her daily Wordle challenges with one of her granddaughters.
Speaking to Vogue, she said: “She’ll text me to say, ‘I’ve done it in three’, and I say, ‘Sorry, I’ve done it in two today’.

“It’s very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are.”
The close bond Camilla shares with her grandchildren was further highlighted during the Coronation when Louis, Gus and Freddy joined Prince George as pageboys for the royal couple at Westminster Abbey.
And while her nickname likely remained unchanged over the years, the King is likely to have had an update in recent months because of his change of status.
The Wales trio was known to refer to Charles as “Grandpa Wales” but as the title now passed on to their own father, it is possible a new nickname has been adopted.
Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret notably referred to their grandfather, George V, as “Grandad England.”
