The Queen could not help contain her joy during the show after her two grandson’s reunited for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue. The monarch was photographed with a large smile as she watched her favourite horse show at Windsor Castle.

She was dressed in a teal ensemble and was wearing sunglasses with a large smile on her face.

The Queen returned from Scotland to attend the horse show, which is believed to be one of her favourite events of the year.

She has attended the event every single year since it began as a wartime fundraising event back in 1943.

Last year, the show was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and went online instead.

Back in 2001, the event was postponed due to foot and mouth disease and in May 2016, one day of the show was cancelled due to flooding.

The Queen’s joy came after her grandson’s reunited to unveil the bronze sculpture on what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.

The two royal siblings seemingly put an end to their ongoing rift as they spoke and laughed during the small event today.

Unveiling the statue, the brothers released a joint statement, reading: “Today, on what would have been our Mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.

“Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.

“Thank you to Ian Rank-Broadley, Pip Morrison and their teams for their outstanding work, to the friends and donors who helped make this happen, and to all those around the world who keep our mother’s memory alive.”

William and Harry’s once deep bond has become incredibly strained following the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step back as senior royals.

But a body language expert believed there seemed to be signs of “reconciliation” between the brothers.

Judi James told GB News: “As they stood there and the cloth came off the statue and they both gazed up at their mother’s face, Harry put his hands on his hips,” Judi said.

“I think that was something where he was perhaps trying to keep his composure.

“That must have been a very difficult, very emotional moment.”

She said when the brothers turned to each other it was for comfort which could have shown their strong bond.

Ms James continued: “But he turned round and looked at William and, for me, that gaze did imply a moment of reconciliation.

“It was kind of ‘this is our mother and remember how things used to be’.

“That was the most poignant pose for me.”

Rumours of a rift between Harry and William have persisted for years, with ensions escalating when William offered Harry advice on taking things slow with Meghan Markle, something the younger son bristled at.
