The Duchess of Cambridge is currently spending the coronavirus lockdown at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, her and Prince William’s second home. However, before meeting the Queen’s grandson, Kate used to live in Bucklebury, West Berkshire.
The village has now been named one of the best places to live in the county by Muddy Stilettos, a website that brands itself as the “urban guide to the countryside”, as revealed by Berkshire Live.
The website compiles lists of the best locations per county around the UK, as well as other information such as nearby restaurants and shops.
While the Duchess may no longer spend much time in the village, her parents Carole and Michael Middleton, still live there.
The village boasts a farm park and is located near the Queen’s favourite Newbury Racecourse.
According to the website, property prices in the village range from £720,000 for semi-detached houses to £965,000 for detached homes.
The Duchess has appeared virtually several times throughout the pandemic, combining her royal duties with homeschooling Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
She previously opened up about the struggles of helping her children with their school work, admitting it takes “effort, energy and patience”.
She did so last month during a series of video calls with teachers and staff from Ribbon Academy, County Durham.
Kate, who was honouring Children’s Mental Health Week, told headteacher Ashleigh Sheridan: “Schools are doing an amazing job, as parents you really recognise what a vital role you do play for us on a day to day basis – having remote learning as well.”
She also agreed with teacher Louise Tweedie, who said the coronavirus pandemic will encourage schools to give mental health more importance.
Kate added: “I’m so passionate about all the work that teachers up and down the country are doing.
“You are doing the most amazing job.
“You are a lifeline to so many families out there.
