Royal commentator Duncan Larcome warned that Meghan and Harry’s UK visit will be “incredibly high profile”, which he described as being a “calculated provocation”. Their upcoming visit, beginning in Manchester on September 5, will be the Sussexes’ first trip to the UK since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. The couple has planned the trip to meet with charities “close to their hearts”.
Speaking about the visit, Mr Larcombe said: “To the casual observer, especially overseas and even more especially in America, this will look like Harry and Meghan are back doing royal jobs, especially given that one of the gigs Harry is doing is the WellChild awards for sick children, which he always used to do when he actually was a working royal.
“It will be incredibly high-profile.
“They will be all over the media, and you won’t be able to put a cigarette paper between what Harry and Meghan are doing and what Will and Kate are doing.
“It’s a calculated provocation on their part.
“They are seriously pushing their luck and risking the wrath of the Queen.”
Despite Mr Larcombe’s warning, there has also been excitement for Meghan and Harry’s return to the UK.
Charity One Young World, which will be the first stop on Meghan and Harry’s trip, said it is “delighted” that the couple will be attending its Manchester Summit.
It praised the Duchess for being a “proud One Young World Counsellor since 2014”.
Social media users welcomed the Sussex’s UK trip, with one, Phyllis Brothers (@PhyllisBrother1) writing: “Can’t wait, love Prince Harry and Princess Meghan”.
Another, Rikdidi (@Rikdidi2) said: “Wonderful couple. Loving them more and more.”, while Anne (@DivinelyMeghan) added: “Wonderful news! They will do an amazing job, and inspire so many! They make a great team”.
Announcing the trip, a spokesperson for the couple said: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”

Mr Fitzwilliams told Newsweek that a family reunion during their UK visit would be “unlikely, but one can never second guess Harry and Meghan.”
Meanwhile, royal author Phil Dampier said the couple might “pop in for a chat” with the Queen, if she requests a meeting.
He told the MailOnline: “Whether [Harry] meets the Queen will probably depend on her.
“If she tells them she wants to see them I’m sure they will pop in for a chat.
“I’m sure she would hope the relaxed atmosphere there would be more conducive to talking things through and trying to solve the problems they all face.
“Meghan won’t like the hunting, shooting and fishing environment of the Highlands but the Queen would feel much more comfortable meeting them there rather than a rushed meeting in London.”
