Prisoner smuggles suspected sex worker into cell and takes racy photos
A sex worker is believed to have been smuggled inside a UK prison to meet with an inmate inside his cell.
It comes after a prisoner at HMP Hollesley Bay in Suffolk shared photos of a woman sprawled across his bed donning a G-string and crop top.
The snaps were supposedly taken on the prisoner’s phone, despite electronic devices being banned for all inmates at the open prison – dubbed Holiday Bay due to its lax regime.
The prisoner was serving time for drug offences and was thrown back into a closed prison on Friday night after police were alerted, reported the Sun.
Labour MP Andy Slaughter, who is also a member of the Commons Justice Select Committee, said: ‘Open prisons are meant to be places of rehabilitation, not for people to live the life of Riley.
‘This is an extraordinary breach and breakdown of security.’
The jail once housed former Tory MP and novelist Jeffrey Archer.
Its perimeter fencing is reportedly being reviewed while police are trying to find the mystery woman.
A source told The Sun: ‘It shows what a joke the security is there.
‘You’ve got a serving prisoner bringing a girl into jail then bragging about it on an illegal mobile to all his mates.
‘Apart from that, the girl put herself at serious risk of harm. She went into a prison full of sex-starved men, some of them serving time for violent and sexual offences.
‘She could have easily been attacked before staff knew she was even there.’
The source added that the woman was not thought to be the prisoner’s girlfriend and that the theory is that she’s a ‘working girl’.
A spokeswoman for the Prison Service said: ‘This behaviour is unacceptable and the offender has been punished.
‘An investigation is underway and additional security measures have been put in place.’
