Princess Kate’s subtle ‘nudge’ to Prince Louis to keep him from showing off

Princess Kate has been enthralling herself in her passion for early years development as of late, and it seems she’s picked up a few tricks to take back to the palace.

The Princess of Wales has already used one of those methods on her youngest child, Prince Louis, who at the age of five-years-old, has already become one of the most watched royals at events.

Since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the royal youngster has been proving himself a delight to royal enthusiasts, with his often hilariously animated responses going viral on social media.

While Prince Louis’s antics have proved a highlight at many royal events already, Princess Kate has mastered the art of maintaining a calming presence around her son, with one useful technique.

Many of these official state events are not the most entertaining for young children, so you can excuse Prince Louis for finding his own way of having fun, but observers will notice Princess Kate uses a subtle “nudge” with her children, a polite way of keeping the royal youngsters in line during engagements.

Body language expert Judi James previously explained to the Express how effective this tactic can be for the Princess of Wales.

Judi James said “Kate seems to be adept at using calming touch rituals to nudge Louis into being less playful when necessary but without appearing to tell him off.”

Though Ms James points out this method can “lead to an escalation to tears or even tantrums”, it has worked a charm for the Princess of Wales, with the gesture proving effective with her well-behaved children during the coronation of King Charles.

James pointed out that Princess Kate’s polite strategy is a positive one for the youngsters: “”Encouraging good behaviour is often a more effective motivator than reprimanding any naughtiness,” she said.

Luckily, Prince Louis also has a supportive hand in his older sister Princess Charlotte, who helps guide her younger brother in following protocol.
