Princess Kate’s Parisian outdoorsy look can be recreated for under £150
Kate Middleton: Royal experts praise her parenting skills
Princess Kate took a two-week break from her royal duties to match up with her children’s fall break from school, but now she’s back, and she ditched the suit for her first official outing.
Kate made her way to Arnos Grove, London, to meet with a group that’s made-up of dads, for dads, to talk about being dads. The organisation, aptly named Dadvenger, helps men navigate fatherhood.
The setting was very casual, with Kate going on a “Dad Walk,” and so was her outfit, made-up of jeans, sweater, lug-soled boots and a utility jacket.
The folks over at Yahoo! are picking up a French vibe from Kate’s fall gear, saying, “Kate wore an outfit that brought together French girl fashion staples, like a white-and-navy striped marinière-style sweater and straight-leg jeans. She topped it all off with the ultimate staple, a wear-with-everything khaki jacket, and finished the look with a pair of lug-soled boots.”
Daily Express went one step further and found the staple items for you, which are all priced affordably.
The French are known for their effortless style. And, there is a trick to it — less is more — a few simple pieces, strategiclly pulled together, can create a finished look.
And Kate did just that, showing up cool and collected, for the dad group meet-and-greet.
Her Breton Stripe sweater, inspired by the 19th century French navy uniform, has a lightness about it, creating an easy-breazy feel. The sweater is boxy, yet feminine, making it functional and fashionable.
PacSun has a white sweater with blue stripes that’s listed for $38.

Also, Kate is seeing lugged-sole boots, which is what French sailors would be seen wearing, then and now.
