Princess Kate urged to ‘get her tiara on’ for Coronation by superfan
Kate, Princess of Wales has been urged by a superfan outside Buckingham Palace to opt for a tiara over a floral headpiece during King Charles III’s Coronation ceremony this weekend. Kate has been tipped to wear the garland instead of a coronet during the King’s Coronation, which marks a departure from the usual tradition.
GB News’ Patrick Christys interviewed a passionate royal enthusiast who expressed disappointment on hearing that tiaras will be ditched for the King’s Coronation.
The excited fan encouraged the Princess of Wales to wear one, urging: “Tell her to get her tiara on! I’m here for the tiaras!”
According to reports, none of the royal women will be wearing tiaras at the upcoming ceremony.
A biographer of the Royal Family, Sally Bedell Smith, stated that the Princess of Wales wearing a floral crown will symbolize the King’s appreciation for nature and his love for flowers.
She told the Evening Standard: “It seems like an especially egalitarian touch as well.
“As the wife of the future king, she will be setting an example for the other women in the congregation, who might find it awkward to even think of wearing tiaras.
“One result may be that the crowns and regalia covered with precious jewels may stand out in sharper relief as symbols of the monarchy.
“They are, after all, held in trust by the monarch for the nation and represent the continuity of the monarchy over one thousand years.”
