Princess Kate stuns crowd as she presents Wimbledon trophy

In the tight battle of the women’s singles final at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club, the Princess of Wales has handed the trophy to the worthy Wimbledon winner.

Standing on the courts, the Princess of Wales presented the Venus Rosewater Dish to Marketa Vondrousova, 24, and the Royal at times looked emotional throughout the match before she watched Vondrousova take the Wimbledon crown.

Ms Vondrousova became the third Czech woman to win the ladies’  single title, defeating Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur 6-4, 6-4.

The tight battle ended with unseeded Vondrousova making history.

Throughout the match Princess Kate cheered, applauded and grinned as the Czech became the first-ever unseeded Grand Slam champion.

The Wimbledon winner fell to her knees in floods of tears as the crowd applauded, while a disappointed Jabeur looked on.

The Princess of Wales watched as a tearful Vondrousova headed up to her player’s box to celebrate with her family, friends and coaches before she was handed the trophy by the Royal.

Princess Kate looked radiant wearing a Lime green dress from Self Portrait, accessorised with cluster pearl earrings from Cassandra Goad.
