Eugenie’s son August Brooksbank celebrated his first birthday a few days before the Super Bowl. Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have been close friends with Harry and Meghan especially when Harry and Meghan announced they were expecting Lilibet shortly after August’s arrival.
Neither Meghan Markle nor Jack Brooksbank made an appearance at the star-studded event on Sunday which attracted the likes of Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Jay-Z.
Given that Harry and Meghan’s multi-million-dollar Montecito mansion is within two hours of the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California it is possible that Mr Brooksbank flew out with his wife to visit the couple and stayed behind to look after August.
Similarly, with Archie, aged two, and eight-month-old Lilibet, it is believed that Meghan stayed at home to be with her children while the royal cousins watched the game.
It is thought that Eugenie is the first royal who has gone out to the United States to visit the Sussexes.
It has not been revealed if Eugenie is staying with Harry and Meghan at their mansion and if her husband accompanied her on her USA visit or instead chose to stay home at Frogmore Cottage.
The royal cousins share a close and strong bond and when Harry has had to return to the UK for visits he has chosen to stay in Eugenie’s company.
In 2021, Harry returned to the UK from the US where he moved with Meghan in 2020 for the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace and for the funeral for the Duke of Edinburgh.
On each occasion the Prince chose to stay with Princess Eugenie and her husband at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, his old home that he used to share with Meghan.
It is thought that Princess Eugenie was the first royal to know about Harry’s relationship with Meghan, and this idea was strengthened when Meghan revealed to Oprah that she was friends with Eugenie before she started dating Harry.
Reports have suggested that Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank went on double dates with Harry and Meghan both in London and Toronto.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021, Meghan revealed that the foursome attended a Halloween party together in secret.
She said: “The four of us just snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night out on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple.”

As well as both having lived in Frogmore Cottage, the two couples also got married in the same chapel and Eugenie and Harry have both honoured their grandparents in the naming of their children.
Jack and Eugenie named their first child August Philip Hawke Brooksbank to honour the Duke of Edinburgh who sadly passed away two months after August was born.
Harry and Meghan’s second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was named to directly honour the Queen whose nickname among family members has always been Lilibet.
