Princess Eugenie, 30, and her big sister Princess Beatrice, 32, are famously close but their dynamic is bound to change once Eugenie’s royal baby arrives. Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child is due early next year and ahead of the birth, the York sisters may choose to celebrate a special date together.
The Royal Family traditionally gathers for Christmas at Sandringham House with Queen Elizabeth II, 94, and Prince Philip, 99.
But this year the coronavirus pandemic is expected to put a stop to the royals’ usual plans as the rule of six is likely to remain in place across the UK over the holiday.
This means that Eugenie, Beatrice and their husbands Jack and Edoardo are unlikely to spend Christmas Day with the Queen but they could still choose to spend it together.
Eugenie and Beatrice’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson live at the Royal Lodge in Great Windsor Park and could choose to host a special family Christmas.
Fergie and Andrew could welcome their two daughters and their husbands for Christmas lunch without being in breach of the rule of six.
This Christmas will be particularly special for Eugenie as it will be her last before becoming a mother.
The holiday may be the last chance Beatrice gets to spend quality time with her beloved sister before the new baby takes over her world.
While Beatrice and Edoardo are yet to have children of their own Beatrice is a stepmother to Edo’s son Christopher who is affectionately known as ‘Wolfie.’
Edo co-parents Wolfie with his ex Dara Huang and Beatrice is understood to have gone to special lengths to make the three-year-old at home.
According to insiders Bea picks Wolfie up from nursery and has decorated her and Edo’s home with photos of him, so he feels like he belongs.
An onlooker who spotted Bea and Wolfie together recently said: “Beatrice could have been any other mother on the school run.
“She welcomed the little boy out of school with a big hug and then took his bag while he set off on his scooter.”

They added: “It was quite touching how close they seemed. She clearly dotes on the little boy.”
A friend of Beatrice’s told the Telegraph’s Camilla Tominey that she “dotes” on Wolfie and talks about him “all the time.”
They added: “She’s ensured there are loads of pictures of him up in their house, so he feels like he has two families, and they do get on well.
“She has instigated a lot of that, rather than Dara.”
Eugenie and Beatrice’s family home the Royal Lodge has a special place in both the sisters’ hearts and it seems likely that’s where they will spend Christmas.
Following her low-key royal wedding to Edoardo in July, Bea’s wedding reception was held in the Royal Lodge’s gardens.
Celebrating her baby news with fans on Instagram earlier this month, Eugenie shared two new photos of her and Jack.
One was the selfie while the other was a picture of the couple holding a pair of baby booties.
The caption read: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021″ and was followed by a baby emoji.
