In celebration of husband Jack Brooksbank’s 34th birthday on Monday, Eugenie posted three pictures on Instagram calling her husband “exceptional”. Two of the pictures showed Jack holding August Philip Hawke, who was born on February 9.
One of the two posts with August showed Jack cradling their son to his chest while he shows off his personalized sweater.
The other shows Jack carrying a bundled-up August in a baby carrier.
In a sweet message to Jack, Eugenie wrote in the caption: “You are exceptional.
“Happy Birthday my love.”
Jack and Eugenie were married on October 12, 2018, at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
A month before her wedding, the Princess told British Vogue she was “not stressed at all”.
She added: “It’s nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect, but then you realise that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.
“There’s a lovely quote from Maya Angelou, which I’m paraphrasing, that ‘No one will remember what you said but they’ll remember how you made them feel’.
“It’s about how we feel, but also how our family and friends feel.
“I want it to be beautiful and fun and to bring out our personalities as much as possible.”
August’s birth was announced by Buckingham Palace on February 9.
In a statement, they confirmed the baby boy was born at The Portland Hospital in London and weighed 8lbs 1oz.
It said: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news.
“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Eugenie honoured the late Duke of Edinburgh by giving August the middle name ‘Philip’. Prince Philip died on April 9.
Posting on her Instagram story, Eugenie, 31, said: “On his grandfather’s birthday weekend, thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy.
“He is named after his great grandfather and both of his great x5 grandfathers.”
