Princess Eugenie, 29, is the daughter of Prince Andrew of York, and the Queen’s granddaughter. Eugenie has received praise for her down-to-earth approach and friendly approach to the public and is a popular figure among fans of the Royal Family. But does the 29-year-old Princess have a job?

Does Princess Eugenie have a job?

Princess Eugenie does, in fact, have a job.

The tenth in line to the throne works at art gallery Hauser & Wirth, where she has been since 2015.

She was promoted to director of the Mayfair gallery in 2017 after having been an associate director for two years.

Eugenie studied at Newcastle University combining Art History, English Literature and Politics.

She completed her degree in 2012, earning a 2:1 in English literature and history of art.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar she said of her job: “I’ve loved art since I was very little.

“I knew I definitely wouldn’t be a painter, but I knew this was the industry for me.

“I love being able to share my passion for art with people.”

However, Princess Eugenie is still considered a key royal figure in the UK and does undertake some official engagements.

She supports a number of charities and co-founded the Anti-Slavery Collective to combat modern-day slavery.

The 29-year-old also attends certain events alongside her grandmother the Queen such as the Easter service in Windsor.

But despite undertaking occasional public engagements, the Princess is not technically a working royal.

Because of this, she receives no allowance from the Privy Purse, the family’s private income.

The Privy Purse mostly comes from the Duchy of Lancaster, a 46,000 acres large estate held in trust for the Sovereign since 1399.

This income was amounted to about £20.1m in net income for the year to March 31, 2018.

The fact Eugenie does not receive any allowance is in stark contrast to her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, who can live off this allowance.

However, Prince Harry recently announced he is stepping down as a senior royal alongside his wife Meghan Markle, and the couple aim to work to become “financially independent”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the news on their Instagram @SussexRoyal on Wednesday, January 8.

But Prince Harry will likely still receive money from his father and the Duchy of Cornwall.
