March 23 is a special day for the Royal Family, as Princess Eugenie will be celebrating her birthday today with husband Jack Brooksbank and son August. Eugenie is one of the Queen and Prince Philip’s eight grandchildren.
How old is Princess Eugenie?
Today, Princess Eugenie celebrates her 31st birthday, as she was born in 1990.
Princess Eugenie was born on this date 31 years ago to Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew.
Eugenie is Andrew and Sarah’s second child, as they welcomed her older sister Princess Beatrice in 1988.
Eugenie’s full name was announced as Eugenie Victoria Helena.
Eugenie was christened at St Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham, and she was the first royal to have a public christening.
Sarah gave birth at the Portland Hospital when she welcomed both Princess Eugenie and her older sister, Beatrice.
Eugenie also welcomed her own child at the same hospital earlier this year.
When was Eugenie’s son born?
On February 9, 2021, Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their own bundle of joy, named August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present. The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news.

“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Royal fans had been eagerly awaiting Eugenie and Jack’s arrival since last October after the couple announced they were expecting their first child.
On an Instagram post, Eugenie shared a picture of adorable baby bear slippers with the caption: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021…”
Eugenie and Jack are thought to have paid tribute to their families with their choice of baby name, with August a tribute to Augustus, the middle name of Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert.
Eugenie wrote on her Instagram stories last month: “On his grandfather’s birthday weekend, thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy.
“He is named after his great grandfather and both of his great x5 grandfathers.”
August is currently 11th in line to the throne and he does not have a royal title.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcome their second child, August will move to 12th in line to the throne.
