Princess Diana’s ex-chef to attend Coronation as ‘time to move on’
Meghan Markle ‘will do something to distract’ from King Charles’s Coronation
The former chef to Princess Diana has tweeted he will be celebrating the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla as it is “time to move on”. Darren McGrady has always affirmed his support for the late princess but acknowledged that enough time has passed for him to be able to celebrate the royal occasion on May 6.

Mr McGrady, who is now a culinary consultant, author and speaker, posted a picture of the King and Queen Consort smiling in the sunshine just weeks ahead of the Coronation.
He captioned the post: “I’ve been ‘Team Diana’ since she called the palace and asked me to become her chef after the separation.
“And even when she told me ‘I will never be Queen Darren’ I didn’t want to believe. But it’s time to move on! And I will be celebrating King Charles III and Queen Camilla.”
When Charles and Camilla first married in 2005 it was generally thought that she would never be Queen out of respect for the late Diana.
This was the case even though Charles and Diana divorced in 1996, the year before her death.
Camilla became Queen Consort once Charles ascended to the throne, however it has now been revealed that she will be simply known as Queen.
New editions of the Bible have been released ahead of the Coronation which refer to Camilla as Queen, and she is also addressed as such on the Coronation invites.

Before the death of Queen Elizabeth it had been assumed that Camilla would assume the title of Princess Consort once Charles became King.
However last year the late Elizabeth II gave her blessing for Camilla to be known as Queen after nearly 20 years of royal service as a senior member of the Firm.
In a message given ahead of her Platinum Jubilee she said: “When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes king, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me, and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as queen consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
A source told the Mail On Sunday : “There’s a view in the Palace that Queen Consort is cumbersome and it might be simpler for Camilla to be known just as the Queen when the time is right.”

Public opinion of Camilla has gradually grown more positive over the years, following heavy scrutiny over her affair with then-Prince Charles while he was married to Diana.
Royal author Penny Junor said: “The problem with Camilla was that she was involved with the Prince of Wales and was what Diana famously called the third person in the marriage.”
But she added: “When she then married him, she was out and about and people met her. They realised that actually, she wasn’t this ghastly woman, a rottweiler, she was actually very nice.
“She’s funny, she’s warm, she’s friendly, she’s self-deprecating, she’s interested in other people.”
