Princess Charlotte is “taking after the Queen,” after the young royal sparked a frenzy over an uncanny resemblance to her great-grandmother. William and Kate’s daughter Princess Charlotte celebrated her fifth birthday last week, but it was photos of the celebration that caught the eye of royal insiders. Experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, who host royal podcast Royally Obsessed, discussed the incredible resemblance between Princess Charlotte to both the Queen and even Princess Diana.

Roberta and Rachel discussed a series of photos released to mark Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday, showing her delivering care packages to those in need in Norfolk during the coronavirus crisis.

The princess joined her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and brothers Prince George and Prince Louis to make the deliveries, which included homemade pasta the family had made the day before.

In the photos, Charlotte, who is fourth in line to the throne, is dressed in a black and white gingham dress.

The birthday portraits were taken by her mother Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Rachel Bowie said: “Princes Charlotte is taking after the Queen in this very sensible, toned down dress.

“There is nothing frilly about it.”

“She also looks a lot like Princess Diana to me.”

Roberta added: “I see all Queen Elizabeth here. I would need earlier photos of Princess Diana to compare.

“But have compared these photos to young photos of the Queen. I feel like their features and her face are the exact same.”

In two photos, the princess is seen picking up white bags of food for pensioners who are shielding from the virus or other vulnerable people in lockdown in Norfolk.

In another, she knocks on a resident’s door clutching a bag.

Over the past five weeks, the Queen’s Sandringham staff have been preparing and delivering meals for pensioners and vulnerable people living in the local area.

Buckingham Palace said about 1,000 meals had been made and delivered in the first week alone.

This comes a day after Kate Middleton got candid about homeschooling Prince George and Charlotte during the lockdown.

She said: “We’re stuck into homeschooling again. George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects.
