Princess Charlotte beams in new picture released to celebrate her sixth birthday
Princess Charlotte has been pictured beaming in a new portrait released to celebrate her sixth birthday.
The young royal is the spitting image of mum Kate Middleton and dad Prince William as she smiles at the camera wearing a floral summer dress.
The snap was taken by keen photographer the Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk this weekend.
It’s thought it will not be posted to the couple’s social media pages this weekend after the Duke of Cambridge announced he would take part in an online blockade designed to help tackle racism and sexism in football.
There are no clues so far from Kensington Palace on how Charlotte will mark her big day.
In 2020, she was pictured volunteering with her brothers and parents by helping to load a van with food and delivering meals for those in need amid the pandemic.
She is said to have celebrated afterwards with cake and games – and a Zoom party with her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Charlotte’s sixth birthday on May 2 comes not long after little brother Prince Louis’ third birthday on April 23. He was seen riding his bike ahead of his first day at nursery in his birthday snap.

It comes after the siblings, along with big brother Prince George, stole the show in heartwarming footage released by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to mark their 10th wedding anniversary.
The family-of-five was seen playing together, going for nature walks and roasting marshmallows on a campfire in the new video.
William and Kate took to Twitter to thank people across the country for a decade of support.
They wrote: ‘Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary.
‘We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C’.
Charlotte pulled at the nation’s heartstrings back in March when she wrote a Mother’s Day card to her late grandmother, Princess Diana, who she never got to meet.
On pink paper, she wrote: ‘Dear Granny Diana. I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day.
‘I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love, Charlotte.’
