Princess Charlotte and Prince George staged ‘dress rehearsal’ for Christmas church outing
Charlotte, four, and George, six, stole the show as they joined William and Kate for the outing on Wednesday morning. The youngsters delighted royal fans as they walked the short distance from Sandringham House to St Mary Magdalene Church with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
William made sure Charlotte and George were prepared by taking them for a “dress rehearsal”, the Daily Mail reported.
It is the first time they have stepped out with their parents for the church service.
One-year-old Prince Louis stayed at home.
Charlotte wore a green coat which matched Kate’s accessories, while George was smart in a suit.
Huge crowds of well-wishers gathered to catch a glimpse of the royals.
Gemma Clark, 39, who had travelled from Long Sutton in Lincolnshire, gave Charlotte an inflatable flamingo and said the young royal thanked her for the gift.
Ms Clark said the flamingo was called Felicity, adding: “But Charlotte may call it whatever she likes now.”
She continued: “It was a birthday present. My sister bought me it for my birthday and I truthfully didn’t like it but we have adventures with her.”
Ms Clark, who was in a wheelchair, said George and Charlotte were “brilliant” and that they both hugged her.
She added: “It made my day. I’ve never seen the royal family, ever.
“This is my first time at Sandringham and I would love to do it again.”
The Queen arrived at the church with Camilla.

Prince Philip, who was discharged from hospital on Christmas Eve, was at Sandringham but did not attend church.
He had spent four nights at the King Edward VII Hospital in London to receive treatment for a “pre-existing condition”.
Prince Andrew also skipped the outing following his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Others attending the service included Princess Beatrice, her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie.
The Queen left the service in her chauffeured car with the Countess of Wessex.
