Princess Charlene expressed her happiness to be once again in Monaco with Prince Albert and their six-year-old twin children Jaques and Gabriella by sharing a heartwarming picture. The snap, published on her Instagram account, shows the 43-year-old princess leaning against her husband of 10 years, who keeps her close to him by placing an arm around her back.
Their children stand in front of them, held tightly by Charlene with one arm.
In the picture, the South African born princess is the only person wearing a face mask, which bears on one side the coat of arms of the Monegasque royal family.
Upon sharing this photograph, Charlene wrote as caption: “Happy day today.
“Thank you all for keeping me strong!!”
This picture was overwhelmingly welcomed by Instagram users, who rejoiced at the sight of the royals united again.
One social media user, ninaperazic, wrote: “So happy you are reunited with the family, and feeling better.”
Another, called marc_koot, said: “Stay strong and healthy.”
A third, with the nickname ashleyparkerteel16, added: “The sweetest picture!!! I am so happy for you and your family!!!!”
And a fan account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, named thesussexsfamily, wrote: “All The best to you and your family. Great to see you four back together.”
Princess Charlene left her native South Africa in a private jet on Sunday evening.
Prior to her departure, she thanked her doctors for helping her heal from a severe ENT infection which forced her to remain in the country for months.
In a video shared by her foundation, she said: “It has been obviously a very challenging time to be here, but at the same time it has been wonderful to be back in South Africa.
“I’d like to thank the doctors in South Africa who have done a tremendous job in helping me and I am so looking forward to getting back to my children.
“Thank you South Africa, thank you everyone and God bless you.”
Following a long trip, Charlene arrived at the airport in Nice, France, at approximately 7.45am GMT on Monday.
There, she was photographed being welcomed by royal staff and a dog, which she happily walked around the tarmac.
Local news organisation Nice Matin claimed Prince Albert and the children were also at the airport and welcomed Charlene with a bouquet of flowers.
They then reportedly left Nice together and headed to Monaco via helicopter.
Charlene was initially meant to remain in South Africa, where she travelled in mid-May, only for a few days to work on conservation projects with her foundation.
However, she developed a severe ENT infection following a sinus lift and bone graft held prior to her departure from Monaco in preparation for dental implants, which barred her from getting on a plane.
Over the past months, she underwent procedures to heal, including one on August 13 and another on October 8.
Her lengthy absence from Monaco forced Charlene to miss key family events, including her 10th wedding anniversary and the first day of school of Jaques and Gabriella.
To make up for the distance, Albert and his children travelled twice to South Africa over the summer to stay with Charlene.
And, as she wrote in an Instagram post, they remained in touch with regular video calls.
