It comes three months after the couple secretly tied the knot at a small wedding in Windsor. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi admitted that he holds his wedding ring with very high esteem.

Mr Mapelli Mozzi told the Financial Times: “An object I would never part with is my wedding ring.”

He also spoke about the details of his wedding suit during the interview.

He said: “The last item of clothing I added to my wardrobe was the Huntsman morning suit I wore for my wedding.

“I worked with a brilliant cutter and creative director called Campbell Carey.

“It was a wonderful process and for the rest of my life, every time I put on that suit I’ll feel happy.”

Princess Beatrice also broke her silence by sending her first message to royal fans since the couple’s wedding.

Writing on her official Twitter page, Princess Beatrice said: “Thank you to everyone who has sent in and tweeted their best wishes for our special day in July.

“Edo and I are so excited to embark on this new chapter together.”
In a separate tweet, the princess also shared her thoughts on her own wedding attire.

The Queen loaned Princess Beatrice a vintage dress for her wedding day.

The Norman Hartnell design is made from taffeta and decorated with ivory satin.

Her Majesty wore the same dress to a performance of Lawrence of Arabia in 1962.

The monarch’s dresser, Angela Kelly, refitted the gown for Princess Beatrice.

Princess Beatrice posted: “It was an honour to wear my grandmother’s beautiful dress on my wedding day, I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition which is still open at Windsor Castle.”

The princess’ wedding dress, shoes and a replica of her bouquet are on display at Windsor Castle until mid-November.

Mr Mapelli Mozzi also revealed how he celebrated Princess Beatrice’s birthday last year.

He told the Financial Times: “The best gift I’ve ever given is a bronze figurative sculpture, which I commissioned from my stepfather, the sculptor David Williams-Ellis, for my wife’s birthday last year.”

He added: “His studio is next to my mother’s house so we’d see him in there every day covered in clay.

“It’s so special for us to have a piece of his work in our home.”

When the couple first announced their engagement, Mr Mapelli Mozzi parents spoke about their son’s “wonderful relationship” with the princess.

They said in a statement: “Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see.

“They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.”
