Beatrice and Edoardo said “I do” surrounded by close family and friends in an intimate ceremony, after their original plans were cancelled due to coronavirus. The Palace said in a statement: “The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday, July 17, at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The small ceremony was attended by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and close family.”
Although details of the wedding were made public after the ceremony, royal fans will be eager to know how Beatrice spent her last night as a singleton.
Luckily, her sister, Princess Eugenie, provided the goods.
In honour of her sister Beatrice’s birthday on August 8, Eugenie posted a photograph on Instagram showing the sisters in casual clothes in the garden of Windsor Great Park.
Eugenie captioned the photo: “Happy happy birthday dear Beabea. Here we are on the eve of your wedding.
“Still rocking a scrunch or hair accessory (since the 90s) and huge smiles on our faces. #happybirthday.”
The Sun reports that Beatrice spent the night before her wedding at the Royal Lodge with her mum, Sarah and dad, Prince Andrew, and younger sister.
Eugenie has been staying at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where the sisters grew up, since the lockdown.
The Princess of York has been staying with her husband Jack Brooksbank, and parents Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York.
Tradition dictates that a husband not see his bride-to-be before she is walking down the aisle, so it makes sense that Bea would have gone to stay with her sister.
Before the wedding, Beatrice and Edoardo were resign in the Mapelli Mozzi family home in the Cotswolds.
But, Beatrice’s cosy night in with her sister makes a stark difference from how other royal brides have chosen to spend the eve of their wedding.
When the Duchess of Cambridge prepared to marry Prince William, she took over the Royal Apartment at the five-star Goring Hotel in London.

The suite was given a £150,000 makeover to include a four-poster bed, a grand piano and a walk-in shower.
A TV was also installed in the bathroom so that the Duchess could bathe and watch the build-up to her nuptials.
Meghan Markle opted for a stay at the incredible Grade I-listed Cliveden Hotel before marrying Prince Harry.
The coronavirus crisis will have likely had a big impact on Beatrice’s wedding plans.
Social distancing measures and closure of a lot of hotels, bars and restaurants are sure to have had an effect on the plans.
Speaking on the plans, a friend of the couple told the Sun: “So many guests were disappointed not to make the big day but they understood the reason for it.
“They needed to make the wedding more COVID-secure and safe for the Queen, so what better way than the All Saints Chapel with reception on site at the Royal Lodge.
“They are just like a normal family and had to make sacrifices like many others have up and down the country, and looking forward to having a wonderful celebration when the time is right.”
