Princess Beatrice, 31, married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private ceremony on Friday. The princess and property tycoon Mr Mapelli Mozzi wed in front of a handful of family, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. But royal experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie revealed how Beatrice had a royal first at her wedding with the inclusion of Edo’s son. The four-year-old was the best man and the youngest best man in royal wedding history.

Speaking on the Royally Obsesses podcast, Ms Fiorito said: “Some royal eagle-eyed fan noticed some red flowers at the very bottom of the archway and thought that a special callout.

“That was actually part of the flower bed surrounding the chapel.

“There already was beautiful flowers around the chapel, they added in the archway but it may have been because of the secret garden theme.

“I love the secret garden because it was a secret wedding.”

Ms Bowie added: “Also, the Queen Mother worshipped at that chapel and it’s where the Queen sometimes goes for private worship.

“All of those details just made it that much more intimate.”

Speaking about the secret wedding, Ms Fiorito continued: “Supposedly there were glamping pods on the grounds of Windsor for guests and a giant blue and white tent for a reception.

“There was also no hymns sung in the chapel per Government guidelines but they did play some music and the national anthem was played.

“Edo’s son Wolfie was best man and he’s the youngest best man at a royal wedding at four years old.”

It comes as Sarah, Duchess of York, expressed her joy and pride after the wedding of her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice.

The ex-wife of the Duke of York shared a message on Twitter after Beatrice’s wedding.
