Princess Beatrice read an extract of the children’s book Tad by Benji Davies on camera. The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, who is also known as Fergie, took part in a video where judges and leading personalities in the publishing world read lines from the acclaimed story.
The vide was put together to announce it won the Oscar’s Book Prize.
Princess Beatrice appeared as the royal patron of this annual children’s book prize.
Among those who filmed themselves reading Tad in their homes was Francesca Simon, author and judge, Viveka Alvestrand, co-founder of the book prize, and Sajida Akber, a nursery teacher and judge.
The ninth-in-line to the throne, who is self-isolating at the country house of her fiancee Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s mother, appeared happy and relaxed in the clip.
Donning a bird-printed black dress, the royal gave a glimpse of Nikki Shale’s £1.5million home in Chipping Norton.
Behind Beatrice a brick fireplace and a white storage space can be seen.
Princess Beatrice’s participation in this video comes weeks after Fergie launched a YouTube channel named after herself.
In it, the Duchess of York publishes everyday videos of herself or guests reading children’s books.
While Beatrice has yet to appear on the channel, her younger sister Princess Eugenie has already taken part in Fergie’s project twice.
The Duchess of York revealed earlier this month her elder daughter was not self-isolating at her London home as previously thought.
Taking part in Darlton Harris’ podcast, City Island Podcast, Fergie said: “It’s sad for me that Beatrice, she was going to get married next week, but they postponed the wedding.
“Edo and Beatrice have been living with her future mother-in-law who is lovely. Great friend of mine.
“But I’m missing my other daughter but it’s just like everybody else, we are just the same family as everybody else.”
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo were due to marry this Friday.
According to their plans shared by Buckingham Palace, the loved-up pair would have married at Chapel Royal in central London and then moved to the gardens at Buckingham Palace for a reception hosted by the Queen.
However, following the coronavirus outbreak, the pair were forced to change their plans.
First, Buckingham Palace announced the pair were no longer holding a reception to avoid the spread of the virus, especially in such proximity to the 94-year-old monarch.
But in mid-March, they were forced to postpone the wedding, as the Church of England stopped performing weddings and christening in accordance with Government advice on coronavirus.
Buckingham Palace hasn’t issued a statement announcing when the Royal Wedding will take place.
In the run-up to taking the decision to postpone the wedding, Princess Beatrice likely went through an “emotionally horrid” time, according to a royal expert.
Royal author and historian Marlene Koenig previously told Express.co.uk: “Beatrice is like many, many other brides right now.
“This poor girl has had to change her wedding numerous times – venue, date, size of the wedding, guests.
The reception has been cancelled, the wedding has been postponed.
“It must be emotionally horrible for a bride. And she can empathise with how many other brides in the United Kingdom who are in the same situation, that they can’t get married now.”
