Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi holiday in Capri as hopes of engagement surge

The pair were spotted on a stunning yacht near the island located near Naples in Italy, a Mediterranean hotspot known for being one of the most romantic. The luxury break in Italy comes just six months after the pair went public with their blossoming romance, prompting many royalists to question whether marriage is in the air. The trip comes at a time of rumours that Beatrice will be the next royal to wed after her sister and Prince Harry, their cousin, married Meghan Markle in May 2018.

Both Harry and Eugenie tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Though it remains unknown as to whether Beatrice will do the same.

The fact the Queen gifted the location to Eugenie as a wedding present has led to some suggesting the Monarch may not offer the same chapel to Beatrice when she marries.

But also, unusual royal etiquette could force Beatrice to hold off on her big day, pouring cold water on a proposal altogether.

A source told the Sun: “Beatrice and Edo have the same circle of friends and were introduced through a mutual chum. They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together.”

They continued: “They’ve been on holiday together and Beatrice introduced him to Fergie and her dad.

“Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time.”

Princess Beatrice was beaten down the aisle by her younger sister Princess Eugenie last October.

And now bookies have suggested Eugenie could reach another milestone before her big sister.

Last week bets were suspended on Princess Eugenie being pregnant after the royal was snapped at a New York Fashion Week event.

If Eugenie does announce baby news soon then Beatrice may have to delay her big day.

The practice of not making two huge royal announcements at once reportedly stems from when the Queen was pregnant with Prince Andrew.

While the Palace has never confirmed, it is understood that Princess Margaret was made to delay announcing her engagement Mr Armstrong-Jones.

Royal etiquette seemed to dictate Princess Margaret must wait until after Prince Andrew’s birth to announce her big news.

Margaret and Anthony’s engagement was finally confirmed by Clarence House in February 1960 – one week after Prince Andrew was born.

If the Princesses are expected to adhere to this custom too, then Beatrice may have to hold off a potential wedding if Eugenie announces she is pregnant.

Royal baby fever has reached new heights of late with both Meghan and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, being backed to give birth in 2020.

The bookies have dramatically shortened the odds on Kate giving birth by the end of 2020 to 1/2.

They also put the chances of Meghan having another baby in 2020 at 4/7.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “There’ll be plenty for royalists to sink their teeth into next year if the latest odds are anything to go by, with a royal wedding and two babies potentially on the way.”
