Prince William and Prince Harry will both attend King Charles’s Coronation next week, with William playing a poignant role in the ceremony. As the heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales is expected to take part in ‘ two sections of the event, swearing his loyalty to his father and the King. William will recite: “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God.” Meanwhile, Harry is not expected to have a role to play, instead watching on with the rest of the congregation at Westminster Abbey.
King’s Coronation ‘to cost £250 million’ amid huge security mission
The Coronation is just a week away as security ramps up ahead of the big day.
The colossal operation will reportedly push the bill of the Coonration to around £250 million.
Insiders have revealed that around £150 million of the total will be required to fund the deployment of thousands of police officers and protection squads, while the remaining costs go to staging the ceremony and three days of celebrations.
The cost of staging the Queen’s Coronation in 1953 was £1.57 million, which equates to around £47 million in today’s money.
