Prince William’s Earthshot Prize that is seeing him visit Singapore
Prince of Wales speaks at Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit
Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize in 2020, in search of the most innovative solutions to the world’s greatest environmental challenges.
The event is a prestigious annual environmental prize which aims to discover, celebrate, accelerate and scale solutions that can lead the world into harmony by 2030.
Every year, over the course of the next decade, five winners will be awarded a prize of £1million to scale their solutions into reality.
Although they may not receive the big prize, all 15 finalists will receive support from Earthshot Prize’s global alliance of partners.
The challenge holds five different categories – Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste-Free Land and Fix Our Climate.

The Awards were inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s ‘Moonshot’ in 1962 – the challenge which saw him aim to get a man to land on the moon during that decade.
This year’s event will be hosted in Singapore, which is where the future King will be headed this weekend.
It will begin on Sunday, November 5 but the main event will take place on Tuesday, November 7.
The entirety of the event will be a week-long celebration of innovation and impact.

Aside from William being present, a host of famous faces will be joining the royal in Singapore.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham will host the ceremony on November 7.
Other stars in attendance at the ceremony will include Cate Blanchett, actor Lana Condor and zookeeper Robert Irwin, with entertainment being provided by Bastille and OneRepublic.
However, one person that will not be joining William is his wife Princess Kate, despite her being with him for the previous two ceremonies in Boston and London.
Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate would not be travelling to the South East Asian country as she would be staying at home to support Prince George during his school exams.
William will be in Singapoer from November 5 until November 8 as he takes part in Earthshot Week, a series of events bringing together Earthshot finalists with business and investors.
