Prince William may have ‘fewer obligations’ says expert
Royal commentator Bob Morris insisted that Prince William’s responsibilities will shift when he becomes the Prince of Wales. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Morris said when Prince Charles becomes King, it is expected Prince William will become the Prince of Wales. He outlined what this would mean for William but noted that initially, he will have fewer duties than his father did.
Mr Morris said: “We can expect Prince William to become the Prince of Wales when his father becomes King.
“He will enjoy considerably revenues of the Duchy of Cornwall.
“It is run at about £20-21 million a year at this time.
“Prince William will probably have fewer obligations initially than his father who of course, at present time finances him and his brother.

“That will probably be a big change in his financial circumstances.”
Mr Morris also noted at the changes that will occur for Prince Charles when he becomes King and what that will mean for William.
He said: “Prince Charles when he becomes King can no longer take quite such an active role with his charities.
“This is in the sense of trying to generate funds for them and so on and so forth.

“One can imagine that Prince William as the Prince of Wales will inherit or take over his father’s duties in that respect.
“This is in addition to exploring and developing charities of his own, as he is doing at the moment with his wife.”
In addition to Prince William’s new responsibility, Mr Morris also outlined the new pressures put on Prince Charles as King.
He argued Charles must remain politically neutral, avoid scandals and plan a future for the monarchy.
Mr Morris said: “I think first he must remain politically neutral in all respects.
“That means perhaps withdrawing a little bit from some of the positions he has taken in the past.
“Although, a lot of them are now seen as to have some sense.
“The point is, nonetheless, one must remain politically neutral.
“He must avoid any hint of scandal or corruption.”
