Prince William will be left ‘kicking himself’ as Kate misses out on huge event
Princess Anne shares insight on William and Kate’s children
Prince William will be “kicking himself” over schedule clashes which will mean Princess Kate is unable to join him in Singapore for the 2023 Earthshot Awards in November.
It had been expected that Kate would accompany her husband to the ceremony, as she had done in 2021 and 2022 when the awards were held in London and Boston respectively.
However royal sources recently revealed that the Princess will instead remain home that week in order to support their eldest Prince George, who has important exams.
Kensington Palace have not disclosed exactly which exams the young royal will be taking, but the preliminary entrance exams for Eton College, known as ISEBs, are also held that first week in November, with other private schools using them to select future students.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said that although William will be annoyed by the clash, he is completely supportive of his wife’s decision.

She told OK! magazine: “I cheered out loud when I learned that Catherine had chosen to stay home with George. It’s absolutely the right decision.
“Official duties will come and go; children need their parents, and they grow up fast. There will be more Earthshot events and prizes. But this year, George has his own big event going on – exams.
“It is entirely right that his mum should be there to help him through them. I expect William is kicking himself that his schedule clashes with George’s exams, but he will be wholly supportive of Catherine staying home to help their son.”

George is currently a pupil at Lambrook School alongside his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, close to the family home at Adelaide Cottage.
It has been speculated that he will follow in his father’s footsteps and attend Eton College when is older, where his uncle Prince Harry also went as a teenager.
William and Harry broke with royal tradition by attending the school in the 1990s, as both King Charles and Prince Philip went to Gordonstoun in Scotland.
Many of the Princess’s royal engagements this year have been in the UK, with some questioning why she has not made so many international trips this year.
She attended the World Cup rugby game between England and Argentina in Marseilles and also flew to Jordan with William for the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein.
Her and William have also not embarked on a major royal tour abroad together since they visited the Caribbean in March 2022.
