The Queen spent a night in hospital last week after it was announced by Buckingham Palace that she was under doctor’s orders to “rest.” She underwent “preliminary tests,” and was back in Windsor Castle the next day. The announcement has shone a light on the busy schedule of the monarch, resulting in calls for younger royals like Prince William to step up further.
William and his wife, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge have been integral to the Firm in recent weeks as they have attended an impressive amount of public engagements.
Royal reporter Natalia Oliveri spoke about the Duke of Cambridge on Today Extra.
Ms Oliveri said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children George, Charlotte, and Louis were all seen at Heathrow airport on Thursday.”
“They were coming back from a family holiday, they had arrived on Thursday, the same day Queen Elizabeth was discharged from hospital in London.”

“Many people are seeing that as rushing back to be by the Queen’s side, but so far we aren’t being told there is any cause for alarm.”
She added: “Prince William is one of the royals that’s really stepping up and taking charge of these royal duties.”
“Apparently he is taking charge of the Balmoral and Sandringham estates in the Queen’s absence.”
“Those were jobs that his grandfather, Prince Philip would have done before his passing, so really William is preparing to be King one day after his father.”
Queen to be 'joined' by other royals for future events
The Queen is expected to attend the COP26 summit in Glasgow next week.
Many world leaders will be attending, including Boris Johnson and Joe Biden, in hopes to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Accompanying the Queen will be Prince Charles, Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Queen is said to be resting at Windsor Castle in preparation for the big event.

The new support bubble we are seeing around the Queen could indicate who will be key players in Charles’ “slimmed down” monarchy.
