Former royal butler Paul Burrell told Vicky Pattison’s podcast, ‘The Secret To’, that Prince William has no choice but to follow his Royal Family path and become King unlike his younger brother Prince Harry. Mr Burrell added that the monarchy will not experience real change until Prince William takes the throne.
Mr Burrell said: “William does not have a choice, he has to follow his destiny.
“He will be King and his wife will be Queen.”
He added: “We are not going to see real change until William becomes King because Diana’s genes in Prince William will kick in and make the Royal Family more approachable, acceptable and out there.
“I think Prince Charles will follow the traditional route, his mother and grandmother’s route.”
During the same podcast, the former royal butler stated that Prince William should take the throne after Queen Elizabeth II instead of Prince Charles.
Mr Burrell urged Prince Charles to step aside and allow Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to ascend to the throne.
He added that the Prince of Wales has a lot of baggage and that his eldest son would be a better fit as the next monarch due to his age.
Ms Pattison said: “I quite want to see Prince William as King.”
Mr Burell replied: “Well it is the Prince of Wales’s birthright of course to become King, he has waited all his life to do that job.
“His ex-wife Princess Diana said she did not think he would ever be King because that job would give him too many limitations.
“He has a lot of baggage with him.
“Can I be controversial?

“I am not a fan of King Charles and Queen Camilla, I do not have an appetite for that.”
He added: “I personally would like to see Queen Catherine and King William on the throne with their beautiful family.
“If Prince Charles gets there and he is over 80 he is not going to be there very long is he?
“Will he actually get up the steps to the throne? He might be that old.”
