Tensions between Harry and William have become increasingly apparent over the past few years, especially since the Sussexes’ stepped down as senior royals in 2020.

In March, whilst being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey for CBS, Harry claimed William is “trapped” within the royal system.

Speaking to the Sunday Times magazine a “close friend” of William hit back, branding the comment “way off the mark”.

Los Angeles-based Kinsey Schofield, who runs the ‘To Di For Daily’ royal website, claimed the brothers are at “different stages” of their lives.

Addressing the Daily Mirror she said: “I am still not convinced that there is a looming reconciliation.

“It appears that Prince William is busy trying to support his family through death and scandal while Prince Harry is concentrating on projects that are financially beneficial.”

She later added: “Deaths, births, remembrance ceremonies, we look at all of these as a fresh start or an opportunity for renewed relationships but the reality is, all of these significant moments are happening within a Sussex PR tornado that is wreaking havoc on the Royal Family.

“It is hard to look past some of the recent revelations while you’re still picking up the pieces.”

William and Harry were reunited, for the first time since the Sussexes’ moved to California, on April 17 for Prince Philip’s funeral.

The brothers were seen speaking to each other after the service, at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.

On July 1, the Dukes unveiled a statue of their mother, Princess Diana, in the gardens of Kensington Palace.

Before the ceremony, Harry quarantined at Frogmore Cottage for several days, in line with coronavirus requirements.

Ms Winfrey’s interview with the Sussexes caused a sensation when it was first broadcast in March.

Meghan claimed there were “concerns and conversations” within the Royal Family about Archie’s skin tone, ahead of his birth.

She added: “That was relayed to me from Harry.

“Those were conversations that family had with him.”

Harry confirmed a discussion had taken place, commenting: “That conversation, I am never going to share.

“At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”

In response Buckingham Palace issued a rare statement on behalf of the Queen.

It expressed sorrow for Meghan’s suffering, but added “some recollections may differ” about the events described.

In July it was revealed Harry is writing a memoir, revealing the “highs and lows” of his life.

The book is being published by Penguin Random House, which also released Meghan’s children’s book ‘The Bench’ earlier this year.

In a statement Harry said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”
