Mother’s Day is a time to show those we care about how much they mean to us, but for many Mother’s Day can also be a difficult day. While the Cambridge children are sure to have written some sweet cards to their mother, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, today, they also took the time to write some sweet messages to their late grandmother Princess Diana.
Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two, drew and painted their own adorable cards to remember their granny.
The children’s touching efforts were published on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Kensington Royal Instagram account on Sunday.
The post’s caption read: “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again.
“Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again.
“But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging.
“Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William.
“Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s Day”.
To mark Mother’s Day, the eldest Cambridge child, Prince George, drew a beautiful landscape complete with trees, birds and a shining sun.
Prince George wrote: “Dear Granny Diana, Happy Happy Mother’s Day. I love you very much and think of you always.”
George signed off his card: “Sending lots of love from George”.
Kate and William’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte, acknowledged her father misses his mother in her touching Mother’s Day card.
Alongside a hand-drawn love heart and butterfly stickers, Princess Charlotte wrote: “Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day.

“I love you very much papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte”.
Adorably the youngest Cambridge child, Prince Louis, painted a love heart for his card.
He decorated the card with stickers of animals like rabbits, birds and bumblebees before signing off “from Louis”.
Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997, when Prince William was 15 years old and his brother Harry was 12.
Despite the ongoing fallout from Harry and his wife Meghan’s bombshell interview with US TV host Oprah Winfrey, William and Harry are expected to reunite for the unveiling of their mother’s statue at Kensington Gardens this summer.
One royal expert said the event could be a “monumental period” for William and Harry, who commissioned the statue in their mother’s honour.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine this week, royal expert Russell Myers said: “I can exclusively reveal that William is still committed, as is Harry, to get together on July 1 for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Gardens.
He added: “This could be a monumental period for the brothers.”
