Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘golden couple’ of family claims close Royal friend

Lady Anne Glenconner made the remark when speaking to The Times. Margaret was the Queen’s younger sister. Lady Glenconner was married to Colin Tennant who owned the Caribbean island of Mustique, where Margaret and the Cambridges have taken holidays.

She explained William and Kate were “absolutely splendid” and “just right for the younger generation”.

Lady Glenconner, 87, said: “They said how much they enjoyed Mustique because its so private.

“We’ve got turtles now and evidently George and Charlotte loved it.

“Nobody bothers them.”

She added: “They’re so used to the royal family there that nobody takes a blind bit of notice.”

Lady Glenconner grew up at Molkham Hall, next door to the Queen and Margaret in Sandringham.

She even bathed William and younger brother Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex when they were young boys.

Mustique is a private island under the jurisdiction of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a Commonwealth realm meaning the British monarch is also Vincentian monarch.

William is second in line to the throne after his father Charles, Prince of Wales.

Prince George is next in the line after William, his father.

George is understood to have learnt how to swim last year on the Cambridge annual trip to the island.
