Prince William and Harry ‘put on a good show’ but Duke rushes back to US ‘Baby steps’
Prince William and Prince Harry put their differences aside when they reunited on Thursday to unveil a statue in Princess Diana’s honour. A royal expert said the brothers “put on a good show”, with the Duke of Sussex appearing “more jokey” when interacting with the Spencer family.
Robert Jobson said: “I thought their interaction was okay, I thought Harry seemed a little bit more jokey, a bit more the old Harry that we used to know.
“William a little bit more subdued, a bit more statesmanlike but that’s their characters.
“I think Harry was always going to be a bit more ebullient when he was with the Spencers, he’s more of a Spencer really and he does get along with his aunts and uncle.”
He continued: “I thought they put on a good show. I do think in baby steps, it’s a good move forward.”

Their joint appearance marks the first time the brothers have reunited since Prince Philip’s funeral in April.
Over the last few months, Prince Harry has conducted a number of explosive interviews that have damaged his relationship with Prince William.
During his and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, he characterised his relationship with William as “space”.
He also said they were on “different paths” and said both William and Prince Charles were “trapped” within the institution.
The friendship between the two brothers had been deteriorating since 2019, when Harry and Meghan branched out from the Royal Foundation to create their own charitable endeavours, Sussex Royal.
They also separated their royal households, fuelling rumours of a rift.
Harry and Meghan’s announcement in January 2020 of their intention to withdraw from the Royal Family was a further blow to their relationship.
Since the Sussexes relocated to California, the two brothers have rarely been seen in public together.

The brothers commissioned the statue in 2017, in order to honour what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday.
The statue was designed by famous British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley and has been placed in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.
