Prince William would often “have a few drinks with the lads” when he was younger, but was not a party-boy Prince like his brother Prince Harry. A royal expert said that the Duke of Cambridge was a “clean kind of drunk” but was caught a few times looking worse for wear on a night out.

Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths, who has been on nights out with both Harry and William said, “William is a good, clean kind of drunk – he wasn’t raving.”

“William I’d characterise as more of a rugby-drinker, he’d have a few drinks with the lads, he knows how to play beer pong.”

“He did get caught on numerous occasions.”

“He went to Verbier on a lads skiing trip and had loads of tequilas at the bar and was seen looking all sloppy and ‘ski-resort drunk'”

“He wasn’t nightclub raving until 6am.”

Of Prince Harry, Charlotte Griffiths said that he was more involved in the “raving scene” whilst dating his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

Prince William was caught dancing in a nightclub during his skii trip to Verbier in 2017.

He had travelled with three close friends and came under criticism for missing the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.

As second in line to the throne, Prince William has always tried to be more careful of his public image.

Whilst at University of St Andrews, he was part of the rugby and water polo teams

The Duke studied Art History at the prestigious university, before changing to Geography.

Whilst at university, he was referred to as ‘Steve’, in order to avoid journalists overhearing conversations amongst students and realising his identity.

St Andrews was also where he met his future wife Kate Middleton, who became a close friend of his during their first year of studying.

They lived together in second year before embarking on a romantic relationship.
