Prince Louis’s favourite vegetable shows his unusual taste aged just five
Most parents struggle to convince their children to eat their vegetables to contribute to their ‘five-a-day’, with many opting to disguise veg in dishes by liquidising or finding other methods for their young ones to stay healthy.
According to the Princess of Wales, her youngest child is a big fan of one particular vegetable and Prince Louis can’t seem to get enough of it in his diet.
Princess Kate shared the inside knowledge with the nation’s favourite cook, Mary Berry on a BBC show, titled ‘A Berry Royal Christmas’.
She said: “We grow our own vegetables. We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot — a massive favourite — Louis absolutely loves beetroot.”
In a nod to Prince Louis, because of the inside information, Mary went on to make a chocolate and beetroot cake.

The young Prince isn’t the only Royal to have an acquired taste, as Princess Kate admitted during a primary school visit, that Princess Charlotte, 8, loves to snack on olives as well as spicy food.
It seems she has inherited her mum’s tastebuds as Kate was heard admitting: “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.”
Princess Kate and Prince William are also fans of spicy, Indian-style curry as revealed during a visit to an Indian restaurant in Birmingham earlier this year.
The couple said they “love curries” and Kate explained that the meal is “so nostalgic” and that she “loves spice,” while William prefers milder options. He said: “I’m a masala man.”

It is clear the Royal Family all enjoy eating and baking together whenever they have the chance in between their busy schedules.
Ahead of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, royal fans recently had a peek into the kitchen when Princess Kate and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, took part in a baking session.
The three children were beaming as they admired the cakes they had made, while proud mum Kate looked on.
Images released by the palace showed Kate and Charlotte smiling at each other as they iced cakes, and another of Charlotte helping Louis.
