Prince Louis ‘ready’ to follow George and Charlotte by taking on this starring role
Prince Louis – the youngest of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children at 18-months-old – is tipped to play a significant role at the upcoming wedding of uncle James Middleton. Despite his young age, the royal could be the pageboy at the nuptials of James, who announced via Instagram his engagement to French girlfriend Alizee Thevenet last week. Princess Charlotte, four, may potentially be a flower girl, while Prince George, six, could also be pageboy.
Louis’ older siblings have already shone in the spotlight at precent royal weddings, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ceremony in May 2018, and Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Broooksbank last October.
But Louis was less than a month old for the former, and was just five months old for the latter, so was considered too young to have a starring role.
As they only announced their engagement last week, James and Alizee have yet to reveal details about when and where they will marry, but his niece and nephews are tipped to shine again.
Princess Beatrice will also marry boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private ceremony next year, which the young royal children are also likely to be heavily involved in.
Louis is now walking and commentators from the Royally Obsessed podcast are confident the young royals will again play a starring role.
Kaitlin Menza said: “It’s a reminder that we’re running out of royal weddings so I’m very happy these two are coming up.
“Beatrice’s and James Middleton’s but that’s it.
“I hope James’ is on the scale of Pippa’s in that we get to see all the images at the church so we feel included.”
Lisa Ryan added: “Of course and maybe his little nieces and nephews will be getting involved as pageboys and bridesmaids.”
Ms Menza added she believes Louis will be “ready” to join his siblings in the spotlight.
She said: “Louis! He’s walking now but I think he will be ready for that kind of role by next year.
“I have faith in him. I think he will.”

James announced his engagement to 29-year-old City worker Alizee via Instagram last week after proposing to her during a trip to the Lake District last month.
He posted a selfie picture of the couple which showed a huge sapphire ring on his new fiancee’s finger.
James added the caption: “She said OUI. Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news.”
Last month, Beatrice revealed her sister had become engaged after long-term boyfriend Edoardo popped the question during a weekend away in Italy.
Sharing a long picture on her Instagram page of the couple lovingly gazing into each other’s eyes, she wrote: “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo.
“It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”
Buckingham Palace quickly confirmed the engagement, and said in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
“Her Royal Highness and Mr Mapelli Mozzi became engaged while away for the weekend in Italy earlier this month.
“The wedding will take place in 2020.”
The newly engaged couple also released a statement, which said: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.
“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
