Prince Harry’s royal split ‘could be permanent’ as family still ‘devastated’

Prince Harry jokes about ‘gingers’ in Stand Up for Heroes address

Prince Harry has been warned his rift with the Royal Family “could be permanent” because of the “hurt” some of the allegations he has made since stepping down have caused.

The Duke of Sussex has levelled a series of claims at senior members of the institution, including the King, Queen Camilla and his brother Prince William.

His relationship with the Prince of Wales and with Catherine, the Princess of Wales was a particular point of contention after he claimed they failed to make his wife Meghan Markle feel welcome and to show them support.

Harry has briefly returned to the UK to attend a set of historical family events, including his father’s Coronation but normal communications are believed to have collapsed entirely.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield reacted to comments from author Tom Quinn suggesting Harry might not be able to reconcile with his family as she shared insight on the feud from her sources.

Speaking to GB News host Mark Doland, Schofield said: “He has said that the split between Harry and his family is likely very permanent because the family is so hurt by it.

“I’m with a lot of people from your neck of the woods and they’re telling me the same thing, that the family is absolutely stunned by Harry’s activities.

“They’re devastated and there is no reconciliation on the horizon as far as people close to the Royal Family are concerned.”

The ToDiFor Daily founder added: “They just don’t see that reunion happening, they say that the Royal Family is truly, truly hurt by Harry’s actions over the last few years and they never thought he was capable of such things.”

The comments come as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a representative refute claims they had rejected the King’s invitation to attend his birthday celebrations next week.

Instead, the spokesman said, Meghan and Harry have had “no contact” from His Majesty in regards to his upcoming birthday.

The Duke was last in the UK in September to attend the WellChild Awards before jetting off to Germany but he did not meet with the King – who was in Scotland to mark the first anniversary of the late Queen’s death.

He briefly returned in May to join the rest of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey for the King’s Coronation.

But rather than join the family to mark the momentous occasion, he swiftly returned to California to celebrate his son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday at their Montecito home.
