With Prince Harry set to release his tell-all memoir in the new year, there has been rampant speculation among royal commentators that the book could contain further “truth bombs” concerning sensitive Palace matters. Since their departure as senior royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gained notoriety for a series of media interviews in which they levelled some serious allegations against members of the Royal Family. As the publication date for ‘Spare’ nears, royal author Robert Hardman suggested Prince Harry would be “wise enough” to respect the privacy of the royal household and avoid any additional revelations about the inner workings of the monarchy.
Mr Hardman, who penned the Queen of Our Times, confessed there could be “all sorts of problems” if Prince Harry decided to drop “more truth bombs”.
However, he told Talk TV’s The Royal Tea: “My hunch is that Harry won’t burn all the bridges with his family.
“He doesn’t need to for this to be a sensational international bestseller. He can just tell us the story of his childhood.”
The royal author suggested the memoir would still generate substantial public attention if the Duke of Sussex were to primarily focus on his early life and personal relationship with his late mother, Princess Diana.
Mr Hardman claimed: “He doesn’t have to go down the ‘let’s just blow it all up’ route.”
He continued: “My hunch is that he’ll be very hard on the media, he’ll be very hard on the Palace institution, the officials – maybe a few old scores being settled there.”
Prince Harry has previously spoken out to condemn how “the institution” dealt with media reports concerning both him and his wife, Meghan Markle.
Mr Hardman added: “I think he will be wise enough to just leave the family generally alone.”

Publisher of the book Penguin Random House has described memoir as a “raw” and “unflinching” account of Prince Harry’s life.
A promotional site launched ahead of the looming release date suggested the memoir would be full of “revelation” and would examine the “power of love over grief”.
Speaking of his book deal, the Duke of Sussex said: “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
The book will hit shelves worldwide on January 10 and will be published in 16 languages.

In contrast with the predictions of Mr Hardman, other royal commentators have forecast that the book will indeed contain damning reports involving the Royal Family.
Royal editor for The Sunday Times Roya Nikkhah suggested Mr Hardman’s view was “very optimistic”.
She noted Prince Harry’s history of controversial media engagements before she added: “I think family ties will come under the spotlight.”
Her concerns have been echoed by fellow royal experts. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams reported: “The title Spare has ominous echoes of his discontent with the Royal Family.
