Fans are questioning whether Prince Harry will speak out about his mother’s marriage and tragic death playing out on screen for all to see as a new series of The Crown hits Netflix in November. The new series will focus on the years 1990 to 1997 which was a low point for the Royal Family as Charles and Camilla’s affair was revealed and Princess Diana died in a car accident. There was talk of the release date being delayed following the Queen’s death in September, but bosses have ultimately decided to go ahead with the season premiere.

There are scenes depicting Princess Diana, played by Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, engaging with her lovers as her relationship with Charles broke down.

But it has been questioned what impact the new series will have on Prince Harry and Prince William as their parent’s turbulent relationship plays out on screen.

Prince Harry has previously spoken about the difficulties he faced when walking behind his mother’s coffin at her funeral.

He said the lengthy experience was mentally scarring and emotionally damaging.

Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir has questioned whether the Duke of Sussex will speak out against Netflix for the “invasion” into his late mother’s life.

But with Harry reportedly filming his new docuseries with wife Meghan Markle for the streaming giant, it seems unlikely the Prince will speak out against them.

Jan Moir wrote: “We all rightly sympathised with him, and the terrible trials he’s endured as a privileged royal ever since.

“So surely he will rail against this fresh offensive on the memory of his mother — a woman who is no longer around to defend herself against the imprecations of filmmakers disguising themselves as truth-seekers?

“Surely he will be berating Netflix at the first opportunity for this gross intrusion of his family’s privacy, this invasion and depiction of his mother’s own mental state in her most intimate moments?

“Or is that another deafening silence I hear from Montecito? The silence of a prince who has his own lucrative Netflix deals to protect. Not to mention his plans to harvest recent royal history for his own gain.

“God knows why I am so bothered about it all, if he is not. Yet I am. For surely these events are too fresh to be historic, too raw to be served up as entertainment for the masses?

“The excavation and sexploitation of the recent past of a family who did not ask for this attention and who can do nothing about it seems very unfair.”

There were reports that Prince Harry may be looking to scrap his deal with Netflix following his beloved grandmother’s death.

But this seems unlikely, as the show is already thought to have been filmed and is expected to hit the streaming giant next year.

The series will look into Harry and Meghan’s life since leaving the Firm and starting their new lives in Montecito, US.

A Netflix source told Page Six: “Harry and Meghan are having second thoughts on their own story, on their own project.”
