Prince Harry ‘torpedoed any remaining bridges’ with King, source says
Piers Morgan lambasts Prince Harry over privacy hearing
Prince Harry has “torpedoed any remaining bridges” with the King with the latest round of accusations he has made against the Royal Family, a source claimed. The Duke of Sussex alleged his family “was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time” about alleged phone hacking practices by News Group Newspapers.
Harry made the claims in a witness statement entered into court records on Tuesday as part of his ongoing lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over claims they carried out illegal or unlawful information gathering.
ANL, which is being sued by six other claimants in addition to the Duke, has denied all accusations.
But a source has warned the latest round of vitriol Harry has aimed at the Royal Family could effectively mark the end of his relationship with the monarchy.
The source said: “Harry has torpedoed any remaining bridges with this statement.

“It is just six weeks until the coronation and the last thing Charles needs.”
The source admitted they were not surprised to learn His Majesty and the Duke are not meeting while he is in the United Kingdom to attend the hearing for his case against ANL.
They told The Daily Beast: “The trust is gone and I think that’s been made quite clear by the king refusing to meet him.”
Harry had previously accused the Royal Family of colluding with the press against him and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex in his memoir Spare as well as in their joint Netflix documentary project, Harry & Meghan.

He appeared to double down on his claims in his witness statement, alleging that the institution had been “conditioning” him not to ask questions about phone hacking to avoid a public legal challenge.
In his statement, the Duke claimed: “There was in place an agreement between the Institution and NGN that we would not engage, or even discuss, the possibility of bringing claims against NGN until the litigation against it relating to phone hacking was over.
“The Institution made it clear that we did not need to know anything about phone hacking and it was made clear to me that the Royal Family did not sit in the witness box because that could open up a can of worms.
“The Institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN’s phone hacking and that has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation.”

The Duke also claimed he had been unaware of the extent of the alleged hacking practices he claims were targeting him until 2020 “when I moved out of the United Kingdom”.
A former palace aide told the publication the regular practice members of the Royal Family tended to favour was ignoring claims made against them in the press to avoid taking the attention away from their work.
They said: “All anyone at the palace ever tries to do is look after the principals.
“And yes, that might include encouraging them not to take legal action on a regular basis as it rarely turns out well for anyone.
“The Royal Family could spend their entire lives suing everybody if they wanted.
“It’s so unfair to suggest those people, most of whom spend their whole lives working very hard for the family, for very little reward or recognition, were conspiring against Harry.”
