Prince Harry will use his tell-all book to “position himself as a motivational type of figure”, a royal commentator has claimed. LA-based Kinsey Schofield suggested the Duke of Sussex, who is living in California with Meghan Markle after quitting royal duties two years ago, could use the memoir in a bid to become a “thought leader” and “public speaker”.

Ms Schofield pointed to Harry’s recent appearance at a summit in his role as chief impact officer of coaching company BetterUp, and referred to American life and business strategist Tony Robbins.

But the royal commentator, who runs the ToDiForDaily website, warned that the Duke’s family are likely to be “in the line of fire” as he tries to “justify his authority on the subject of overcoming an adversity”.

She claimed that Harry will have to “share some secrets” like Sarah Ferguson in her autobiography.

Ms Schofield told Express.co.uk: “Ultimately, I think Prince Harry is going to try to use this book to position himself as a motivational type of figure, a thought leader, a public speaker.

“We saw hints of it at his surprise Better Up Summit performance where he used canned phrases like, ‘unlock that potential!’ Ok, Tony Robbins! We see you!

“Unfortunately, to try to justify his position or his authority on the subject of overcoming an adversity he will likely be critical of his family.

“I just don’t see why there would be any hesitation from the Prince if his family was not in the line of fire.

“Just like Fergie got her big payday spilling secrets about Diana’s warts, Harry is going to have to share some secrets too.

“Hopefully they aren’t permanently detrimental to his relationship with his father and brother.”

Ms Schofield’s comments come after it was announced earlier this week that Harry’s memoir will be released globally on January 10.

The tell-all book is called Spare, a reference to the phrase “the heir and the spare”.

It was expected to hit bookshelves this autumn but there has been speculation he pushed back the publication date to make 11th-hour changes following the death of the late Queen to remove potentially damaging material.

Buckingham Palace is likely to be bracing for revelations as King Charles is in the first months of his reign.

The memoir will be published by Penguin Random House, which said in a press release: “Spare takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the 20th century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow – and horror.

“As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling – and how their lives would play out from that point on.

“For Harry, this is his story at last.

“With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”
