Prince Harry snub: How Prince Harry is acting like a celebrity NOT royal over baby Archie

Royal commentators have recently claimed Prince Harry is acting like an A-list celebrity and not a member of the British Royal Family. The claims stemmed from the choice to keep baby Archie’s christening private, with the ceremony taking place in the Queen’s private chapel inside Windsor Castle. Unlike with the Cambridge children, photographers were unable to capture guests arriving and leaving, and Archie’s godparents are still unknown.

Instead, two official photographs were released after the ceremony, one of the family of three and the other including royal family members and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.

This privacy has caused royal commentators to claim Harry is behaving more like a celebrity than a royal.

Royal biographer Penny Junor recently wrote in the Sunday Times that Prince Harry “is acting like an A-lister over Archie’s christening, not a royal”.

Ms Junor said of Archie’s christening: “I think they have made a big mistake that could backfire on them.

“A christening is an important rite of passage and, for generations, royal christenings – brought into our homes via the media – have brought pleasure to millions of people worldwide who love and support the Queen and her family.

“Getting a glimpse of this family together on these big days brings a bit of magic into our humdrum lives.

“Only two photographs have been released.

“They are delightful. Archie is beautiful.

“But two carefully selected photographs released after the event don’t compare with television footage of the family coming and going or photos taken by the press.

“We have been shortchanged.”

Ms Junor added Harry should remember while he might dislike the media, he still appreciates the positives of being a royal.

She wrote: “He has accepted his destiny and he is a huge asset to the family firm and to the country and Commonwealth, the Invictus Games are a triumph.

“But he has also accepted a lot of taxpayers’ money to put a comfortable roof over his head – and there is no such thing as a free roof.

“About £2.4 million of public funds has been used to renovate the couple’s new home in Windsor.

“Privilege comes with responsibilities and a few obligations.

“Whether he likes it or not, his two-month-old is seventh in line to the throne.
