The Duke of Sussex is expected to release his memoir this autumn, although royal commentators suggested the publication may be delayed as the book comes under intense review. Following the Queen’s death, there was a huge outpouring of public sympathy for the Royal Family as the nation mourned its monarch of 70 years. Having witnessed the displays of support for the Royal Family throughout the mourning period, Prince Harry is said to be rapidly editing the book’s contents in a bid to avoid a backlash.
Royal commentator Josh Rom said: “Prince Harry is scrambling, is the word, to re-edit some chapters, some passages of his book.
“He fears that he might come across as insensitive and he fears that he might receive intense backlash from the publication of this book.
“He wasn’t expecting the absolute adoration for the family at the time of Queen Elizabeth’s death.”
After the public announcement was made of the Queen’s passing, floods of mourners gathered at royal residences to bring floral tributes and reflect on the lifetime of service offered by the Queen.
The royal commentator added: “He wasn’t expecting the outpouring of love for King Charles and the Queen Consort Camilla as well as the utmost support for his brother Prince William and the Princess of Wales, Catherine.
“He doesn’t want to receive backlash, he doesn’t want to come across as insensitive.
“Ultimately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle care about one thing and one thing only and that is brand Sussex.”
While Prince Harry has been previously involved in a string of controversial interviews, Josh Rom suggested the Duke would be keen to avoid fresh criticism, especially at such a sensitive time for the Royal Family.

While no exact date has been confirmed, the company set to publish Prince Harry’s memoir reported the book was “tentatively scheduled” for an autumn release.
Penguin Random House described the novel as “intimate and heartfelt” with the publication set to offer a “definitive account” of Prince Harry’s royal life.
The Duke of Sussex said: “I’m writing this not as the Prince I was born, but as the man I have become.”
He added: “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

Although Prince Harry’s memoir is expected to contain detailed discussion of his time at the centre of the Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex has maintained he always held a favourable relationship with his late grandmother.
However, the Prince has previously discussed how he felt “let down” by his father, King Charles, with tensions between the pair expected to be a keen point of focus for readers of his book.
Prince Harry also revealed to Oprah Winfrey in his 2021 tell-all interview that he and Prince William remained distanced, as he discussed how their relationship consisted of giving one another “space” for the time being.
